Description
"King Buffalo Horn" refers to the "White Horn" — the most beautiful and rarest grade obtainable only in very limited quantities from the "Babalasu Arni" water buffalo found in West India. We use this prized White Horn for the temples, handcrafted one by one by Japanese artisans. Artisans apply color coating to this precious White Horn, followed by five coats of urethane resin coating, creating a translucent and gorgeous color. Front parts are normally joined by soldering the brow, bridge, and armor sections together, but overturning that convention, we created it as a one-piece pressed part with no soldering, using advanced die-making to add a delicate arabesque pattern. This solder-free, one-piece pressed part results in a frame that achieves perfect optical properties. Its design feature pairs a one-piece pressed front with a rear acetate brow, using different colors for the front metal and brow to produce a sense of depth and dimension! An innovative classical design that emphasizes the Boston shape is the appeal. Simple, yet full of one-of-a-kind original detail, this is eyewear where you can savor outstanding Japanese craftsmanship. The newly engineered "Pera-arm hinge," combined with slim, smooth-to-the-touch horn temples finished with a beautiful sheen, produces an outstanding fit. Ptolemy48's horn frames are entirely HANDMADE by eyeglass artisans in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, Japan. Every piece is a limited release, presented in a "Kiriko-patterned paulownia wood box" together with a "leather case made from original Italian fabric."
