Product Details

The celluloid of Ptolemy 48 is made from slowly dried and hardened celluloid, giving it just the right amount of flexibility and resistance to deformation. Furthermore, it is meticulously polished by skilled craftsmen to create the deep luster characteristic of celluloid. The variety of celluloid colors, the Boston shape, and the slightly elevated bridge and hinges create a modern balance. This is an exquisite piece that not only satisfies design aesthetics but also meets optical requirements. We have adopted the new "J-hinge" mechanism. By positioning the temple's opening pivot point further back, we have significantly reduced the issue of glasses slipping forward when worn. The "J-hinge" is made from pressed β-titanium, which increases its elasticity and, combined with the coreless celluloid construction, creates a comfortable fit that gently grips the head. Titanium decorative elements are attached to the temples using a riveting method. This frame is truly a culmination of master craftsmanship, incorporating numerous secondary processes into the celluloid material. All metal parts are made of titanium and each piece is individually plated to significantly improve durability.
