Ptolemy48 uses celluloid that has been slowly dried and hardened, resulting in a material with just the right amount of flexibility and resistance to deformation. Each piece is meticulously polished by skilled artisans to bring out the deep, unique luster characteristic of celluloid. It is a masterpiece that satisfies not only design requirements but also optical elements, featuring a wide variety of colors, soft shapes, and a style and aesthetic that transcends trends.
Adopting the new "J-Hinge" mechanism, the pivot point for the temple opening has been moved further back, significantly improving the issue of glasses sliding forward while worn. The "J-Hinge" is crafted from pressed beta-titanium, providing increased elasticity which, combined with the coreless celluloid construction, creates a comfortable fit that gently holds the head. Titanium ornaments are attached to the temples using a riveting method. This frame is a culmination of master craftsmanship, incorporating numerous secondary processes into the celluloid material. All metal parts are made of titanium, each individually plated to significantly enhance durability.
