Vintage Celluloid VC-022-BKR
VC-022-BKRProduct Details
The celluloid in Ptolemy 48 frames, made from slow-dried, hardened celluloid material, offers just the right amount of flexibility and minimal deformation. Additionally, meticulous polishing by skilled artisans brings out the unique, deep luster characteristic of celluloid. These vintage celluloid glasses embody craftsmanship, combining the allure of a "glossy black finish" with the beauty of "curved temples." Made from natural, cotton-derived celluloid, the material is aged, and then two world-first 6mm sheets are laminated together before being carved down to 3.5mm, achieving a lighter weight. The world's first spectacle craftsmen shaped the celluloid material into a curved hinge design, and the polished black luster stands out distinctly. Equipped with the world's first triple β-titanium hinge, combined with elastic temples, these glasses offer an unprecedentedly comfortable fit.
The titanium end pieces feature "onyx black," and the temples, crafted from 7mm celluloid material, achieve their beautiful curve through carving, not bending—a true testament to craftsmanship. Despite being made of celluloid, these temples are elastic.
By using β-titanium cushion pads, these frames provide a cushioned effect, making the wearer experience surprisingly little weight from the frame.
