"King Buffalo Horn" refers to the most beautiful "white horn," which can only be obtained in very small quantities from the "Bubalus arnee" water buffalo found in the West Indies.
The Ptolemy48 horn frames use this most beautiful and valuable "white horn." Through the masterful techniques of Japanese artisans, color coating and urethane resin coating are applied to create brilliant, translucent hues. The frames are designed in a Boston-Shaped browline style, exuding a classic, subdued elegance reminiscent of earlier times. The use of a three-barrel hinge creates an exceptionally soft and comfortable fit. Buffalo horn has a very low specific gravity, making it extremely lightweight, and its natural material is exceptionally gentle on the skin, making it particularly recommended for those with allergic or sensitive skin. Each temple is individually hand-carved and polished by artisans, allowing you to enjoy its unique texture as it ages with use.
