Product Details
In America, ravaged by the Great Depression of the 1930s, beautiful metal frames were secretly being created. The techniques of the 1920s, an era when various entertainments and arts flourished due to abundant economic conditions, were passed down by artisans, and skilled craftsmen from the jewelry industry flowed into the eyewear industry. Metal eyeglass frames manufactured around the 1930s are particularly valuable as items from "the era that produced the most beautiful frames in the history of eyewear to date." The artistic engraving patterns left by our predecessors have been reborn by artisans in Fukui, incorporating modern, cutting-edge technology. Exquisite engraving patterns are carved into hard β-titanium temples, and the lens rims adopt 0.6mm β-titanium wire rims. The bridge and brooch supporting the wire rims were created with state-of-the-art mold technology through an integral press that eliminates the need for soldering, in pursuit of perfect precision. This is a small Wellington-style eyewear combining extremely thin celluloid wrappers.
